Word:
Sunday we began to look at the short letter known as 2 Peter. Over the
next few weeks, we will be challenged to grow in faith, pay attention to scripture, beware
of false teachers, and prepare for the return of Jesus Christ. This week we looked at
Peter, his audience, and the key concepts of grace, peace, and knowledge. Today we are
going to look at some of the warnings given in the N.T. regarding doctrine and teachers.
May God encourage and challenge us as we study His word together!
Pastor Paul
Does everyone in your family always have the same opinion? Who is right?
Peter gives the purpose for his second epistle in the final verses.
According to 2 Peter 3:17-18 what is the danger, and what is the solution?

3.
Look for the warning given in the following verses. Is there a pattern? Are these
verses consistent with 2 Peter? What challenge do these verses give to you personally?
4. God gives us the antidote for heresy. Meditate on the following verses! They are
powerful and important for us as we seek to go forward with Jesus!

Please ground me in your word and establish truth in my heart. Protect me from
lies and deceitful teachers of false truth. Open my eyes as I study and grant me
discernment as I grow in my faith. Allow me to speak with gentleness, grace, and
honesty to those who are seeking after you. Above all, my I know you personally, and
share you faithfully with those who have not yet met you! In Jesus name, AMEN!
1 Peter 3:15 (MSG)
thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ,
your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you're living the way
you are, and always with the utmost courtesy.
